About Mayfair Homes

Steve Kolak is a licensed builder and qualified carpenter, and has been part of the construction industry in the Canberra region for more than thirty years. Steve founded and established Mayfair Homes to fill a gap in the residential construction market for high-quality custom built homes. During this time, Steve has assembled a talented, reliable, and trusted team of qualified tradesmen to create some of the region’s finest homes.

Steve is personally involved in each and every project, both in the day-to-day operations of the business, as well as the construction aspects. Our unique advantage lies in the direct access that the clients have to the actual builder – which is a rarity with larger construction companies.

Steve is the consummate professional when it comes to the design and construction of homes. He has the ability to devise innovative, yet practical and cost-effective, solutions whatever the situation may be. With this extensive experience showcasing versatility and expertise, Steve has constructed both private homes and diplomatic missions in Forrest, Yarralumla, O’Malley, Deakin, Farrer, and Duffy; as well as in Canberra’s newest suburbs of Whitlam, Denman Prospect, Wright, Coombs, Franklin, Crace, and Bonner.
